Welcome to MAT
Welcome to MAT – that’s short for the Management Assistance Team. We are a small, high-performing team that is part of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. We’re funded by a multistate conservation grant and our offices are at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Think of us as an internal consultancy and training resource on retainer for all fifty state fish and wildlife agencies across the country. We don’t get into the critter side of things; the states’ professionals are world class in that regard. Our products and services concentrate on the agency administration or the people part of the equation. MAT helps state fish and wildlife agencies in the areas of organization development, public policy, leadership development, programmatic and comprehensive agency effectiveness reviews, and commission and board governance.

Now that we’ve been introduced, don’t be a stranger!

Special Webinar Plus Book with Dr. Margaret Wheatley

On March 6, 2012 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm EST, MAT is most excited to offer a new webinar titled Perseverance and Leading Through Change starring Dr. Margaret Wheatley. It is the first of MAT’s special new webinar offerings with authors and other special guests. Margaret Wheatley, renowned author and consultant on organizational change, also serves on the faculty of the National Conservation Leadership Institute. Wheatley will share some interesting perspectives and ways to look at state fish and wildlife agencies as “self organizing” units facing unprecedented organizational change.
