The Adaptive Leader (SLP-211) Print E-mail
6-weeks ($63 registration and $9.55 for materials)

This online course is based on works by Ron Heifitz and Marty Linsky of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. In this course you will learn to define adaptive leadership and distinguish leadership from authority. Students will be able to apply principles of adaptive leadership and learn how to lead both with and without authority. This course is designed to help you determine the differences between adaptive problems and technical problems and the importance of addressing each type of problem differently.
In this course you will learn the dangers of really leading and some tips on “staying alive.” It is all about taking smart risks with the best chance of survival.

This course will be presented over a six-week period. It will require about 5 hours of your time per week (1 hour per day or less). The course modules are broken into one-week segments. Each week will begin on Monday morning and end on Sunday evening at midnight. Participants complete their assignments each week within that time period and can work on the course at any time (evenings, weekends, during regular work hours, etc.).
