MAT approaches training as a part of any organization development intervention to help clients meet change and become more effective in the process. Training often precedes or follows consulting with a client. Typically, training is an important piece but alone is insufficient to meet a client’s needs.
MAT has several unique attributes which elevates MAT’s training services above what is commonly available through private sector or other vendor sources. First, MAT is easily and directly accessible – literally a phone call away. No red tape or bureaucratic hurdles. All consulting and training services and products are funded by a Federal Aid Multi-State Conservation Grant, so there are no additional fees for MAT time, travel, or per diem. MAT is able to customize training to meet the client’s specific situation and, perhaps more important, to put the training content in the natural resource context of the learners. Training is more receptive to state fish and wildlife employees because MAT brings a wealth of case examples and stories “from the trenches” of fish and wildlife to illustrate and ground truth what is presented. For years, client feedback has told us that this characteristic of MAT training workshops has made all the difference. MAT trainers are also MAT consultants, collectively pulling from a rich background of experience, education, and skills. MAT trainers are members of the American Society of Training and Development, certified FranklinCovey facilitators, and certified meetings facilitators. |
